We are looking to hire a writer/some writers to take Early Impact’s blog to a new level.
We are looking for article writers who are either experienced teachers or early childhood education specialists, that have unique and inspirational ideas to share with the world. You may have a particular niche you specialize in, (for example, autism, speech and language therapy, ADHD, behavior, or learning activities just to name a few random examples) or just have more of a general overview of early education. (Either is fine)
We are particularly looking for people with experience of teaching children somewhere between the ages of 0 and 6.
Articles will be either 1350 words, or 2500 words, depending on the article written. I have a list of more than a hundred article ideas to write on. Potentially your own ideas may be considered for articles also.
Articles may be things like ’18 counting backwards activities’, or ’14 Original Ideas For Early Writing Outdoors.’ (as two random made-up examples.)
The rate of pay will be 2 cents per word – so $27 for shorter articles, and $50 for longer articles.
This will rise by an extra $10 if you supply your own original photographs for the article. So, in this case, you would receive $37 for a shorter article, and $60 for a longer article.
Tone should be informal, relaxed, and putting forward the information in a simple and readable way. Check out any of the articles on our website to get a feel for what we are looking for.
Full guidance and training will be given in how to write for our website, and the kind of tone and style to aim for.
I am ideally looking for writers that could write a minimum of 3 articles a month on a long-term basis, but you could write more articles than that if you would prefer per month. Please let me know how many articles you wish to write per month in your application.
How To Apply
Send an email to hello@earlyimpactlearning.com with “Early Impact Writer” in the subject line. In your email, please write:
A little about yourself, your previous writing experience (if any), your experience of education, and why you’re a good fit for this position.
Any particular niche of early childhood education you specialize in (for example, autism or speech therapy, as two random examples). Don’t worry if you don’t have one – that is not a problem.
How many articles you would ideally like to write per month.
Send (or link to) 1 article you have written on any topic that is a good example of your blog writing.
Please note, it will probably be impossible to provide feedback on all submissions due to the number we may receive. If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks, please infer that you have been unsuccessful this time.
If You Are Successful
If selected, applicants will then be sent a hit-list of possible articles to write, along with guidance on how to write the piece. Choose one of these, and then submit it back to us when you are done. You will be paid for this article at 2 cents per word whatever happens as long as you submit it. (plus $10 for original photos).
If we are happy with your work, you will then become one of our writers.
Thanks and good luck!
